Farm Fresh Eggs?

Did you Know??

The general rule is… eggs should not be washed immediately after collection.

Why? Hens leave protective blooms on the surface of the egg that keep out air and bacteria that helps eggs to stay fresh longer.

Unwashed eggs will last at least two weeks unrefrigerated and three or more in the refrigerator.

Directions Before Use: Wash eggs by rinseing them under warm tap water.

Other Helpful Tips:

1. Save the eggshells, dry and crush them, and feed them to your chickens. Eggshells provide your hens with much needed calcium.

2. You can also freeze egg whites and yokes for later use.
